After a year of drinking Chaga daily I felt compelled to start selling it in Ireland. None of the health food shops I inquired at had even heard of it back in 2015 so it felt like an obligation to bring it here. 5 years later and I’m still drinking it regularly and continue to reach out to people to inform them of the benefits of this powerful gift from nature.
My Story from 2015
Back in 2006 I was diagnosed with Crohns/Colitis. For the next 7 years I took anti-inflammatories daily and once or twice a year had to take steroids. My condition was basically an inflamed section in my large intestine which would occasionally bleed.
After a few years I noticed a pattern, where I would have a severe flare-up every autumn/winter, which would always result in me taking steroids. A nasty choice of cure, weakening bones with regular use, not to mention the manic mindset it caused.
Then in 2013 I ordered a 250g bag of Chaga pieces online. Initially I was overwhelmed by the choice of superfoods, supplements, medicinal mushrooms and alternative treatments but Chaga spoke to me. I just decided to drink a pint of Chaga tea everyday until it was gone. The bag lasted me over 3 months.
My first surprise was the taste. It had a rich earthy flavour. Similar to coffee and even had a slight vanilla flavour. For those 3 months I never felt the need to add flavouring or sweeteners to my tea.
Having very poor digestion for a number of years had left me somewhat malnourished, low in vital vitamins and minerals and basically depressed. Even though I had cut out wheat, dairy, alcohol and meat for 4 years my body still wasn’t able to assimilate the nutrition I needed.
6 months after drinking my daily Chaga I was a stone heavier. For the first time in years I had put on weight. My mood had improved greatly and my overall energy was up. I was drinking beer for the first time in 4 years without a bad reaction. I was eating bread and cheese happily too. When the winter came I had no flare-ups, no upset stomach and no bleeding for the first time in 6 years.
So I kept drinking the Chaga. It’s been 18 months now and I feel like a different person. I’ve since added Castor oil packs, Lugol’s iodine, topical magnesium, raw cacoa, Reishi and many other things to my bodys health regime but it was the Chaga that gave me the much needed boost to get me up and moving. My plan is to drink a pint of Chaga every day for 7 years to undo the period of ill health I had. I couldn’t be happier to share the knowledge and power of Chaga with you.
